Can the doctor prescribe anything stronger than Gaviscon Advance for heartburn in pregnancy?

I have had really bad heartburn throughout pregnancy I drink gaviscon advance and also take the tablets (I got them myself) which are better you can buy antacids over the counter and most are safe in pregnancy. I find renees tablets also work. Also the stated dose is rubbish, the only way to get some effect is to swig it from the bottle. Its perfectly harmless as long as you dont overdo it.
