Can someone please explain labor supply and demand?

Here I am again not understanding exactly what the text book is saying. Even the examples are confusing. Can someone please explain labor supply and demand and give me some examples? I have to do a paper over a technology boom in terms of labor supply and demand. Now I am not asking anyone to do my ignment just help me understand what it is by explaining it plainly and giving examples. Thanks too anyone that can help.
