Does any1 no of owt i can do to get rid of severe toothache, i have 1 everynite and has me crying myself2 slep?

hi my names debbie, i recently went to the dentist and he cleaned my teeth with the vibrating drill thing and ever since i get the worst pain in the left side of my mouth evey single night, it has me in floods of tears and i know it probably sound silly but has me crying myself to sleep, it isn't as such the tooth its inside my gum which im uming means its the root, does any1 no of anything i can take that will get rid of this?
