Formula covered by insurance?

Two of my children were so allergic to milk and soy that after we tried every single one of the over the counter formulas, they were placed on a prescription formula. It is $60.00 per can and is covered by insurance because your doctor has to write you a prescription and can only be gotten by a pharmacy. To get this formula though, you child has to not be able to take any of the over the counter formulas. When I say this, I don't mean they just get a little sick and some late night crying, my children were in the hospital hooked up to tubes and the doctors didn't think they would live. I know that formula is expensive, go to WIC for help. Women, Infants and children. The give formula, and later in life, until age 5, milk, cheese, cereal and juice. Usually they give enough formula per month that you only have to by a couple cans a month. I really hope that for your babies sake, he doesn't get to the point where he has to have prescription formula. Look up your local WIC office on line and give them a call tomorrow. Good luck!
