Help with valence electrons configuration?

well that element is lithium. The exponent numbers added together is the number of electrons in the atom you tri=ying to figure out and electron number is the same thing as atomic number so the exponents added to together is equal to the atomic number and what ever that number is, is the elemnt that configuration creates.
