Should I learn embly?

Hey I've been teaching myself programming. Started with Basic which really sucks to be honest moved on to C now and about halfway through the book I'm using. I can also make html pages, use python to make programs similiar to the ones I make in C. Should I learn embly or is it too soon for that? I wanna learn embly because it is so difficult that any HLL would seem easy if I master ASM and I wanna learn how to write good efficient code. Im also interested in writing viruses and eventually anti virus programs once I completely understand how Virii,trojan,worms etc work. I read up on Benny from 29a and he said that any programmer who is serious about programming should learn embly and this guy is my hero. Am I moving too fast and is embly still alive today? Oh and also which embly should I learn HLA,FASM, MASM or a86?
